Pixel Lover? Why?

Giiman95

So Apple and I have hit a rough spot in our relationship, and I think it’s time we see other people. ?

(Not willing to pay for a Xs Max even with sprints pretty good trade offer)

Here is my current dilemma:

My current daily driver is a iPhone 7 Plus 128gb on Sprint.

I’ve been wanting to switch to Android for a while, and I think Oreo and pie have finally convinced me to abandon iOS’s craptastic quality. I haven’t enjoyed iOS since iOS 10.

Samsung note 9 is very intruiging. I like some of the promotions that have been going on, and with the holidays coming up, I expect them to get even better.

Now to the pixel owners:

Pixel 3 will be announced tuesday. From all the leaks, I Think this could be the phone I’m looking for. Hopefully google doesn’t pull a fast one when it comes to price.

I’m looking at the pixel 3xl.

Long story short, Pixel users, what could you never live without, and what are your biggest gripes?

Thanks

You do know you don't have to buy the top of the line iPhone right? Apple offers phones as low as $449 and if you want FaceID in an iPhone X style body the iPhone XR is almost here.

I got a note 8, and I definitely recommend a note 9 given the improvements, for what it's worth.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

Personally, I can pass on having the ability to make a pig react to my facial movements. ?

I get iOS12 is a bug fix, the issue is it didn’t fix my bugs. Example: Watching floatplane videos in Safari, if I lock my phone, and come back, I have to reload the page in order to get playback. Not to mention floatplane doesn’t have resume where you left off yet.

See, there’s a couple Craigslist postings for note 8 and I’ve seen some new deals on them lately. What were some of your reasons for going with the note 8?

That’s another floatplane issue. Every other streaming service does not behave that way.

The screen real estate is nice. 18.6 or something by 9 is a weirdly tall screen but it works quite well for consuming video content. Despite a single bottom mounted speaker, it's really loud with good sound quality. The pen is superfluous in my opinion but I also like to have it for the odd use. The infinity edge was decidedly a bad idea on Samsung's part, but getting a decent case instantly clears up accidental touches on the edge of the screen, so it's no trouble at all. The screen feels good to touch and the haptic feedback is nice (typing this right now on my phone).

Haven’t noticed anything like that on my 6s Plus.

Please don't buy a $1000 phone, Apple or otherwise. It makes them see it as a normal spending point which hurts other consumers in the long run. Seriously, we're at the point of $1500 phones because someone decided $1000 was completely acceptable.

TBH, I agree with you 100%. However, it should be noted that I don’t buy hardly anything unless it’s on sale. This applies in this situation. They should be paying me to buy it is how I look at it.

Phones are a lot more expensive to make nowadays, if you want the latest and greatest you have to pay for it. For example, Apples profit margins have gone down since the iPhone 4 which was almost half the price of the current XS.

The profit margins for Apple are largely the same.

They've gone down a bit, my point remains though. Companies arent doing it to scam people theyre doing it because people demand all these features in their phones. Dont blame the company when they give you what you ask for and it turns out to be expensive
