So I made a post on this forum and was happily given 2 options for AMD builds that specialize in Audio production,

moderate photo editing and light video editing in a 500-600 USD price range.

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/4r8sjy

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/wrgN29

My dilemma is I wanna know which of these builds would be better for older game emulation i.e gamecube, ps2,

steam indy games etc and streaming to twitch through a capture card.

Any emulation and streaming experts?

I would go with the first one because the geforce 210 is extremely old and not good by modern standards. The Ryzen APU actually has a good graphics processing unit and is just all around more powerful than the second one.

CPU: Intel I5-7500

CPU Cooler: Cooler Master ML240

Motherboard: ASRock B250M PRO 4

Memory: 16GB Patriot Viper Elite

Gpu: Asus Dual 1060 3GB

Storage: Corsair 120GB M.2 NVME

500GB Samsung 860 EVO

1TB WD Blue

Power Supply: EVGA 500W 80+Bronze

Case: Phanteks P350X

Monitors: HP Omen 25in 144hz

and some 25in Acer

Keyboard: Corsair K70 LUX RGB

Mouse: Corsair M65 Pro

Headphones= VModa Crossfade Wireless(but used wired)

Speakers: Some janky speakers I jerry-rigged

The second one, but grab a used 750 Ti or something instead of the GT 210 and get some faster ram like what the first one uses.

I'd opt to just change things around if it's better to go with something else entirely.

The 750 ti would take me over my budget slightly which isn't the worst thing in the world.

But would the ram really be a deciding factor?

The performance benefit would be good though.

Yes, ryzen has horrid system call performance without good ram, it slows down the system by quite a bit, I would know.

okay so I'll switch the ram in the builds. currently I see a couple 750 ti's for $50 is there a slightly lower gpu that could fit me in my budget(possibly 30-40 usd)? and if not could I survive streaming and emulating without the gpu for a while until I could possibly get a 750ti or even a 1050?

Like if I did

AMD 2600

DDR4 3200

No GPU

vs

AMD 2400

DDR4 3200

The 2600 doesnt have an IGPU so you couldn't use it without a dedicated gpu, you could wait to save up a little bit, you could try getting a 950/1050 though.

If you're on a really tight budget then I would go with the Ryzen APU which has about the performance of a 1050 and maybe the 1050 ti

CPU: Intel I5-7500

CPU Cooler: Cooler Master ML240

Motherboard: ASRock B250M PRO 4

so in conclusion

AMD 2400g
DDR4 3200

then a 1050 down the line.

It comes just below a 750 Ti typically.

I would go watch benchmarks on YouTube to see how powerful it exactly is
