This summer, I'm planning to make my own satellite a launch it. Or perhaps launch a camera into space and have a parachute to slow it's decent. Either way, does anyone know who I would go to or what should I read in terms of laws and regulation in Canada (specifically Ontario) for anything related to this subject? I really don't want any military to think I'm launching some sort of missile...

I was thinking more along the lines of having a balloon(s) ascend it and once it pops, have it fire the rockets. As of right now, I'm just going for something small. But my main goal is to actually launch the Moto G past the moon and have it relay video via 3G.

fire rockets...yeah that won't go down well if the area is susceptible to a forest fire

Hmm...now that I think about it, 3G is mainly provided by cell towers...not satelites. I may have to rethink that.
