Bought Corsair Refurbished AX850, was it a good idea?

PenGaBear
Go to solution Solved by Unhelpful,

I bought it from Fry's Electronics. It was Factory Refurbished by Corsair and it's running absolutely fine now. The return policy is 15 days for fry's and the warranty is apparently 90 days according to the box but on Corsairs website it says 1 year for refurbished PSU's.

If its factory refurb its absolutely fine.

The reviews for this PSU are fantastic but I'm just worried that is was a bad idea to buy it considering it was refurbished and all but it seems to be working fine. I had some problems at first though, it would get stuck on the "Starting Windows" screen but after a few hard resets it booted and is working fantastically. So I'm worried that those problems are a sign that the PSU will die on me, should I be worried?

Edit: I only bought it for about $110

Refurbished, especially manufacturer refurbished is fine. It's been tested to work and pass.

Are you able to return it?

I'd consider going that route if you're having issues and you're sure it's caused by the "new" power supply.
If not, enjoy it for however long it lasts you.

Well actually, where the refurb came from is questionable because it came in a brown box like whats inside of the flashy corsair outer cover and it came without a manual so, The only thing I'm going off of is a little sticker that says "Corsair Refurbished 90 Day Warranty."

I have that PSU and the warranty is 7 years. If Corsair won't honor the 7 year warranty take it back.
