Crossfire cooling questions

Go to solution Solved by bradscoolio,

No, but get a single card, like a 780, 290

2 270x's is cheaper than a 290x and will give you a better hash rate if you're mining. So it's not a bad choice

I already have one 270x so i can't afford to put out 400+ for another graphics card.

It's kewl dawg! You won't need any more cooling than that, you could get away with a lot less if you had to.

Just make sure they're not pressed up against each other, that they have at least 1 spare pci lane between them for airflow :)

Hey, I'm planning on running two Asus R9 270X gpus in crossfire on a Gigabyte GA-990fxa UD3 mobo in a Bitfenix Ghost case. I have two  AF120mm fans in the front, and one 120mm fan on the bottom for intake. and two SP120mm puling through a radiator and another 120mm out the back running as exhaust. My question is will I need to invest in more cooling if i run thes two cards in crossfire?

AMD diehard & Nvidia Enthusiest

i would say to do it, but radeon cards are so damn expensive now, it would be better to sell it and buy another card

You will be fine .Plenty of cooling going on in your case.Just remember the top card will run warmer than the bottom card. When i ran my 7970 Ghz Editions in X-fire the top card ran @ 80c while the bottom ran at 65c under full load.
