GTX 1070 Strix fan randomly spins at 100%

KezzaMcFezza

Hey i was hoping someone could help me with my issue as i got my new GPU a few days ago, its amazing dont get me wrong but its annoying when the sound of a 747 taking off during a youtube video hits. the other fans dont spin at all because of the 0db setting on the card when not being used heavily. they turn on when gaming. Any advice? thanks :)

Are you saying that one fan on the card goes to 100% rpm but the other fans on the card don't?

Yes i checked MSI afterburner when this happens but it says the fans are at 0 speed when they're clearly not, this doesnt make any sense...

Seems like a bad fan if it's only happening to one of them. You should contact Asus and ask for a replacement.

I've got the same card and not all fans kick on, it's normal for mine to have a have a single fan going when it needs it.  Maybe the temp is rising and it can't run fanless.
