RTX 2080 vs GTX 1080

Would the RTX 2080 be a lot more better on rendering 1080p videos than the GTX 1080 and if so, would two GTX 1080 work better than the RTX 2080 on rendering videos?

Considering that the 2080 is significantly more powerful than the 1080 in pretty much every way I would definitely assume that it can render videos faster. However I do not know how two 1080s would compare to a 2080, but if you're buying two 1080s and speed is really that valuable to you I would consider a 2080 ti.

Meh some build specs...

Meh some inspirational quote meh...

Ok thanks for your answer.

It depends on for what. Premiere for example doesn't seem to see huge benefits from getting a better GPU; just having one is what makes the big difference.

Buy whatever product is best for you, not what product is "best" for the market.

I love computer hardware and feel free to ask me anything about that (or phones). I especially like SSDs. But please do not ask me anything about Networking, programming, command line stuff, or any relatively hard software stuff. I know next to nothing about that.

Well tbh i am not the one rendering i am asking for a friend so i dont know that kind of info but rendering videos with a 1080 which are only 4 mins seems to be taking a bit too much.He is using adobe premiere.

Then with premiere quality will be the same, the 2080 is faster, but for premiere, difference is tiny, really even a 1070 or 1060 is fine for almost all 1080p workflows, you probably want a faster cpu here instead of a faster gpu.

Hmm i see and any suggestions for a good but not that expensive cpu that would work pretty well on that?

With premiere which GPU you choose really doesn't matter so long as you choose an ok one. GTX 1070 vs 2080 ti is barely any difference. A 1070 would even be fine.

CPU should make more of an impact than GPU.

whats the rest of the rig?

Premiere doesn't need that much gpu power, past about a 1060 or 1070 for 1080p has a very small(less than 5%) improvement. Money is normally much better spent on a faster cpu or more ssds.

Yes if all he is using it for is premiere then you can ignore my previous comment. Any decent gpu like others mentioned will be perfectly fine.
