I bought an asus P6T WS Pro motherboard off ebay, it worked perfectly fine until i pulled it out to swap an x5650 xeon into it. The cooler i was using was a pain to take off, so removing the board was the best option. After i put everything back together i pushed power and it lit up, but didnt post. i put my w3570 back in and still no post.i put the board up on a shelf until i could figure out whats wrong with it and i know my ram, psu, and gpu are fine because im using all three of them in the computer im typing this on. i was only able to use that pc for a week or 2 and its been 3 weeks since it broke. i had forgotten about the huge amounts of people on this forum and the vast knowledge there is shared here

Have you cleared the CMOS and everything? Refer to the steps to clear the CMOS in your manual. Do not use the "pull the CMOS battery for 15 minutes" thing. If it were to work 100% of the time, they would mention it in the manual. But they don't.

I'm sorry but what? Do you actually understand how computers store CMOS information?

Pulling the battery out will work 100% of the time, guaranteed, and if you ever find a board that can hold CMOS settings without a battery I strongly suggest you call a priest to perform an exorcism.

Also it's 1 minute, not 15. You only need enough time to discharge the caps on the board.

Main Rig:-

Intel NUC running Server 2019 + Synology DSM218+ with 2 x 4TB Toshiba NAS Ready HDDs (RAID0)
