Need laptop suggestions

Hi

My budget is around $1000. I have the following requirements:

1. I need number pad. (I am a business student and have to work a lot on spreadsheets)
2. Decent screen (i spend 12 hrs on computer)
3. I should be able to play Dota 2

So i am looking for some sort of dynamic laptop which is mostly geared towards work but can do light gaming (dota 2). Please help me with this. Your help will be much appreciated on this.

Asus vivobook s is an option. I would go for something like that. A laptop that is thin and light with an mx150

Where are you from? Any preference on weight, battery life and display size?

I live in Canada. I dont mind the weight or size. My criteria are that the laptop should be sturdy and it should be of 15 inches.

If you are on a tight student budget the nitro 5 is always a good budget choice.

 

Dells g3 isnt too bad either.

 

Go to a local store and type a page or two on each make sure you like the keyboard and the screen doesnt fatigue you after 20 minutes. Honestly best way to go about choosing.

 

This may be unwanted advice, but if you have an old tablet or ipad download twomonusb and use it as a secondary monitor. This has been a huge help to me in school. Especially when I'm working with multiple devices or spreadsheets.

Mr Genexis I dont need laptop for any video or photo editing work. I merely spend a lot of time reading on a laptop screen. So my screen requirement is based on that. I am willing to stretch my budget by $100-150. 

I am willing to sacrifice the gaming component. However, i would still like a laptop with full keyboard and good display.

Those are some really good suggestions. I am considering lenovo Y530. 

I would also like your input if i want a completely work laptop. My requirements would be same - good display for reading (basically office work), good keyboard with number pad and durability. No games and the region will be Canada. Budget around $1000 (might stretch it by $100).

No gaming man. Just work. No preference for weight but as it is not gaming preferably 6-7 hrs battery.
