So I am currently, upgrading my system slowly. I am on a bit of a budget, but basically what I have got is that I want to add a 1TB Samsung 860 EVO to my rig. My current spec is as follows:
Asus x57 Sabertooth
Intel Core i7 960
Corsair 12Gb 1600Mhz RAM

EVGA GTX 1050ti ACX 3.0

1TB WD Black drive

Windows 10

What I want to do is add the SSD in as the new boot drive, but I don't want to mess up anything that is currently on my WD drive. Is it as simple as just selecting the new SSD in the Bios as the boot drive or is there more steps to this. I will eventually want to add some games and commonly used files to this drive, which I think I can figure out, but I am worried about booting and something like Windows not being there and I've messed up everything,

Any help is appreciated!
Thanks

i always recommend to unplug your HDD when installing windows, so that you won't mess anything up, you can also turn off the HDD in BIOS but if you don't know how to do that then just simply unplug the SATA cable for HDD :)

after you booted up to desktop on the SSD then you can restart your PC and plug the HDD back in again and make sure that you're booting from the SSD so after you load into windows you can delete old windows from the HDD manually, but that's a whole other process, you can ask here again after you've done all that.
