Best 1TB HDD?

Xhights

So my Samsung HD103UJ has started making weird grinding sounds which pretty much means its done, therefore i'm looking for a new one.

My budget is £50 ($80) and i'm looking for a 1TB HDD. I've been researching and the Western Digital 1TB Caviar Blue looks like a good pick! Suggestions?

Thanks!

Depends on what you're going for. Western Digital's Caviar Black drives have excellent performance. If you want something a little more economic, Seagate Barracudas, WD Caviar Blues, and Toshiba hard drives are good. If you're running an SSD for a boot drive and a hard drive for your mass storage, get a WD Green or Red drive. Greens are energy efficient, and while Reds are meant for servers and NAS arrays, they have greater resistance to vibration, so they run quite nicely as mass storage.
