LGA 1366 Build

So I'm wanting to build an older rig just for the heck of it! I'm trying to hunt down options for a x58 motherboard, but the prices are inflated really high  so far I already have CPU, PSU, RAM, GPU, and a case. What do you guys recommend or suggest?

 

Parts I have:

• GPU: EVGA 660Ti 2GB
• PSU: EVGA 600B
• RAM: 12GB G.Skill Ripjaws
• CPU:  Xeon X5670
• Case: Random Thermaltake Case from 2008

1366 boards should be pretty cheap now i'm seeing plenty on ebay

More RAM never hurt anyone.

 

Definitely get some form of SSD as well.

I found some for $120 but a lot of them are going for $200 even $300 too

if you want an absolute beast of a system get another Xeon and a dual-socket board.

 

you will need ECC ram for those though, because those are meant to be used in servers. if you find a dual socket board make sure to read the manual to see what kinds of ram it supports.
