High end gpu underperforming

peter432ne

Hello,

I just added a new gpu- evga gtx 1070 ti in my system with i7 5820k cpu. And recently I installed forza horizon 3 on my pc and the gpu struggles to hold my fps above 20fps on ultra which doesn't seems right. I also benchmarked my system with 3dmark 11 and my gpu is only scoring 19 988.  I have all the drivers installed. Is this normal?

What resolution?

Did you change drivers?

What temp is the GPU running at?

Ryzen 5 1600 @ 3.9 Ghz  | Gigabyte AB350M Gaming 3 |  PaliT GTX 1050Ti  |  8gb Kingston HyperX Fury @ 2933 Mhz  |  Corsair CX550m  |  1 TB WD Blue HDD

Inside some old case I found lying around.

no its not normal, I play FH3 on a 8750h with a 1070 on ultra and I've actually never checked how much but definetly 60+fps at all times

Whichever from 1080p to 2160p it is, still doesn't sound right - even in 4K a 1070ti should give more than 20 fps.

i7 5820k doesn't have igpu.

Did it happen on older drivers? If not, use ddu and roll back to the last working one

What's your gpu usage and clock in game? What is your cpu usage and clocks in game? It might help diagnose the issue if something is being under utilized.

I just installed this gpu so I can't really tell if it worked before.

I just solved the problem by putting the gpu in another pci express slot. Now it achieves 100+ fps. Thanks anyway.
