HI all im am using a logitech mx anywhere mouse.

absolutely love it-

apart from in the last couple of months it has started to double click when i single click.

I dont mean its physically clicking twice, i mean its doing a double click when i clearly press once. Annoyingly its sporadic and happens randomly.

Didnt use to do it and nothing seems to have changed PC wise. ITs very annoying as i'l go to close some software and it will close the one behind as well.

Any thoughts?

aside from the mouse i am using a logitech k400+ keyboard and using a unifying receiver for both -software used is logitech options, but only for the keyboard- mouse doesnt show up

Microswitch failure.  The contact between the switch dome and contacts in not good and is not making solid contact.

If you click and drag it will randomly drop whatever you are dragging unless you press really hard.

Solution...

New mouse or disassemble your current one and replace the switch.

Looks like the MX Anywhere has a 3 year limited hardware warranty. Use it.

I got a new G502 because the scroll wheel broke on my old one after 2,5 years of use. So I have a good experience with Logitech support. Either way, worth a shot.

The MX Anywhere 2 has a 1 year warranty, btw, if that's what you have.

You will be fine, Logitech has the best RMA warranty in the industry.  Ive dealt with them for 2 decades.  You get a RMA and they send you a brand new mouse.  They ask you to return your old mouse but you don't have to.  I can off the top of my head think of 6 or 7 times Ive RMAed them all 7 times in a couple days I get a brand new product and never send mine back.

The phantom clicks happen in a ~10ms window (single frame of mouse data effectively), changing double click speed will not help.
