USB dac/amp?

When using my akg k550s with my xps 13 9370 the audio doesn't sound as good as when I plugged the headphones into my tower pc, would a dac/amp improve the audio, and do you have any suggestions for less than £50?

well since you want an upgrade over your laptops soundcard, i really don't know anything else under 50$ that would be considered an upgrade, there's alot of cheap 10-20$ USB soundcards but i have no idea how good these are.

there's also this headphone amplifier with it's own DAC, but it doesn't have microphone inputs.

I don't need any mic inputs and I don't mind going a bit higher than £50
