Hi, I'm using integrated graphics on my intel i7 6700 3,4 ghz turbo boost 4,0 ghz. Does this shorten the lifespan of my cpu if I game on these integrated graphics?

 

And generally, how long do you think I can survive?

Well your gaming experience will suck. iGPU is not meant for heavy gaming.

no, it will not shorten the life span of it.. it will only shorten your attention span from gaming on horrible graphics and make you save up and get a proper discrete graphics card.

No, but it will be slow in gaming. Unless you only play very old titles. Usually go to 480-720p low for playable framerates

No it doesn't shorter any lifespan. It keeps the interior cooler, because usually GPUs tend to release its heat into the system case.

 

It depends on what you're doing with the pc. If you're the type of guy who wants to play every game on maximum graphic settings at 1920 x 1080 and consider a game not worth playing on lower graphics, then you wouldn't want to use integrated graphics.  The Intel HD 530 is a very capable GPU, considering the fact that it's a tiny square in the processor. It can run almost any game including popular games like Fortnite, CSGO, GTA 5. If you don't mind lower graphics you'll be fine with it.

Ok thanks! I mostly play only 1 game that could be heavy but I play it on very low settings at 1080p. So no problem at all.

Is it a problem if I have my standard cooler installed on it? It's just a month now before I can get my new gpu.

Just keep an eye on the temperatures you should be fine
