is there even a max of sata connections on a board or express board?

are there PCB s in the market that give you 10 sata connections more?

You can get a sas card like a dell h200 or lsi 9201 8i and then use a sas expander for hundreds of sata ports.

There are only 26 letters.... so i dont think Windows will be very pleased with more than 26 drives to mount.

you can mount a drive to a folder, so there is no real limit to the number of mounted drives.

it "just works" in Linux tho.  No need for silly workarounds.
