Google Play Music Issue

Hey, so I have a galaxy S7 edge and I still download all of my music and organize it into play lists on my phone. So one day I open the music app up and all of my play lists are empty. So I go ahead and reorganize them again and a few months later the same thing happened again but this time the SD card wasn't recognized until I took it out and put it back in again. 

 

So really what I am asking here is what is the best music solution for someone who still downloads all of their own music? I kinda just want something like I tunes where I can just get it together on my pc and plug in my phone and have it update all my play lists like that but I would rather not switch to an I phone. 

 

Also I listen to a lot of Japanese music so streaming isn't really the solution for me because last I remember the library for that type of music on spotify is very small. And I tend to not have the best data connection all the time.

Oh and something that would back up my play lists as well would be golden so i don't end up having to re make all of them again.

You can upload custom music to google play using chrome or you can get sync software that checks a certain folder on a computer for new files and uploads them as and when they're there. That way you can have your whole library on a pc, and have it all backed up onto GPM where you can sort it into playlists. I've been doing this with some music along with my GPM subscription and it's worked great, google assistant is even able to play the custom songs I've uploaded which is a really nice bonus
