graphics card NVidia Volta Noob Help :/

Hi guys,

 

I'm thinking about buying a gaming laptop for Machine Learning projects so I want to get something powerful. I was wondering. I hear that the NVidia Volta range is coming out for Desktops. How long do you think it will be before they're available for use in Laptops?

 

I also wondered. Is the 2080 the same as the Volta or are they different things?

The 2080 uses Turing, not Volta. Volta is only available on a select few Quadros, Teslas and the Titan V.

there are some differences between turing and volta, but they both have deep learning cores. if you want something really powerfull get yourself a good laptop with thunderbolt and an external gpu
