i want to upgrade my home network, currently i use cheap switches that crash from time to time, so i want to replace them.

i need 2 things. a bunch of ports, and gigabit.

i don't want to pay to much for it, and i'm familiar with used hardware so if it's an older model that's fine.

Aight. Word of warning, when you're going with higher end equipment, you'll get actively cooled switches, so I wouldn't keep them in the same room you sleep in.

Generally, I go for Netgear switches if possible. They've always been stellar to me, and some models have lifetime warranties, such as the Prosafe GS724T.

One happens to be for sale for €100 right now.

Most unmanaged ones are pretty synonymous, usually it's just picking the quantity of ports and the style you want, or other features like rackmount if you need that.

If you had any feature interest like VLANs I'd at least start looking at the smart side.
