low power server build

I planning to build a low power itx(or atx better itx)server, use proxmox(maybe still not decide). It uses as Nas, web server and router if can(FreeNAS, Apache and pfsence). Any hardward recommend?

Budget? Id probably go 1151. Its good at being low power, has a igpu so you still have a slot for network.

Id probalby get a b30 board, and a i5 8400 and 32gb of ram. 

 

How much storage do you need? Id get a 1tb ssd for boot and vms and a few hdds for storage.

Use zfs for raid in proxmox.

You need to, but if you want this to be a router have 2 or more nics is very nice. Otherwise you need vlans. And id probably suggest keeping the router on anouther box. Makes it much easier to service the nas as it doesn't take your whole network down.

Well if you want a low power itx server, then you can't use those cpus.

There aren't any itx 1366 boards, you need eatx for dual socket(some atx though).

 

Those chips aren't worth much anyways, so id really just get something newer.
