I’m building a PC and the fans run and lights are on, but I’m not getting my BIOS. I can’t tell if it’s posting, but I haven’t heard a beep. 

 

Setup

EVGA 650 GQ PSU

Gigabyte Z370 Motherboard

Intel i7 8700K

Corsair Vengeance RAM 16GB

Cryorig H7 Cooler

GTX 1070 TI (not installed yet, still in mail)

to hear a beep you need to have a external speaker. they are like $0.25 and plug into the mobo.

reseat the gpu. 

reset cmos/bios

reseat RAM

press RAM default button if you have one.

also unsure the CPU fan header is plugging into the AIO cooler

 

also it will not post at all without a gpu

I thought it could run on integrated graphics. My GPU comes in tomorrow, so I guess I’ll see then.

you would need a CPU that has a integrated APU chip. It seems that one does. you may need to just clear the bios/cmos

I tried to clear he CMOS already. I turned off the PC, pulled the PSU cord, and removed the battery from the MOBO for 15 seconds. Is there another way I should have done?

2 ways actually

you should be able to flash the bios from USB as I think that mobo supports that but verify that.

There is a 3 pin header on most mobo that you move the plastic connecting device from pin 1&2 and place it on 2&3 for a few moments. Than put it back.

The 8700k has an iGPU
