Hello people! I have built my pc a few weeks ago and everything works perfect. The only thing that i have not bought yet is the GPU because i wanted to wait untill the new GPUs from nvidia come out so the prices on the 1080/1080ti would go down a bit. I will most likely only be doing 1080p 144hz gaming but i might upgrade to a 2k 165hz monitor in the near future. What card should i go with? asus rog strix gtx 1080 ti or just a 1080?

My specs:

Mother board: Asus rog strix 370-f
Ram: G skill trident z rgb 16 gb 3200mhz
CPU: I7 8700k @4.9 ghz 1.290v
Storage: 2 tb HDD & 250 gb m.2
Case: Nzxt h700i
PSU: Evga 850w g2
CPU Cooler: Nzxt kraken x62

Performance gap is huge from the 1080 to 1080ti, I'm talking anywhere from 30-50 fps difference in gaming so if you can afford the 1080ti, get it especially if you're looking to go 2k.

Yeah i agree. I just hope that the prices go down in a few weeks because here in sweden the 1080ti is still $1000 :/

that's mostly at lower settings where the fps is at around 200, which you cannot tell the difference between 170 fps and 200, but in ultra to high settings the difference is about 10. However in higher resolutions, the ti outperforms the 1080 by 20, but the fps are low (about 40 in demanding games), so the difference between 20 fps and 40 fps is huuuuuge

You should probably go for a GTX 1080 Ti or RTX 2080. The prices are really similar right now and the RTX 2080 will probably be a little bit better then the 1080 Ti but we will have to wait for some ''real'' benchmarks to know for sure. So if the prices of the 1080 Ti don't drop, then I would go for a founders edition RTX 2080 because it is cheaper than most 1080 Ti and will probably perform a bit better. But If the prices of the 1080 Ti drops to maybe 8500-8000kr then that would be the better buy.

But both the 2080 and 1080 Ti would be a good choice so it's all up to you :)

CSGO, Fortnite, PUBG would all be fine on the 1080. GTA and Battlefield? You're definitely going to want the 1080ti. If you can justify the extra cost, it will definitely be worth it.
