hello all, for the past few days ive notice about every 7-10 seconds i get 2-3 seconds of lag ive noticed this the past 3 days of playing warcraft, this happened all of a sudden i didnt install any new windows updates (currently none availble for past 3 days) havent downloaded any programs, ive also noticed in command prompt when i run ping command i get 3 decent speeds like 33ms,41ms,22ms then ill just get a 1000+ms, ive tried everything reinstalling my usb wifi adapter, changing network settings, reseting in game ui, ETC.

i know most of yall are going to say switch to wired, but i would if i could, best i can use is 5ghz wifi at 14ms ping 20mb down 10mb up

any suggestion to help my connection would be very helpful

thanks all

EDIT: also my speedtest.net and ingame latency calculator look normal like my connection shouldnt be lagging

Probably their servers then..

You should try with another computer see if samething happens and or maybe ask a local friend if they have same lag or not that wud maybe help to identify the source of the issue

My suggestion is to change the wireless channel the 5 Ghz is using. While interference has a lower chance of happening on 5Ghz its not impossible. Someone near you could be using that same channel. ALSO, I know at least in the US, some of the 5Ghz spectrum is shared with Weather Radar, so that could also cause issues. I notice you use a USB adapter, My opinion on these is clear I think they all suck. PCI express all the way. Never had issues with my PCI express WiFi card, like ever. However, my next step would be trying new drivers.

Also remember that Ethernet is not the only way to wire up. Power Line adapters and Moca adapters can also be useful in that case as well.

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.

hey thanks alot for the polite responses

well i contacted blizzard (the people who created/manager warcraft) and i was in a live chat with a agent and he tried to troubleshoot it and told me to download a program called winMTR, and connect to thier server and run the program for 10 mins while playing, then send them the log file it produces, and they said my connection to their server looks fine i shouldnt be haveing lag issues, then he told me to reset the game ui and i did and still no fix, i have a gut feeling that its just 1 little setting i got to change to fix it or something very small to fix it, eather that or it will fix over time.

not really sure tho

ive actually used a android app called wifi anylizer to see what networks are on what channels when setting up my internet, and ive picked the last crowded channel, and i got a good internet speed, the weird thing is that i see lag in game ,and lag while runing ping command on command prompt but i see no lag when i run a speedtest.net.

While that app can detect WIFi networks, other devices using the 5 Ghz band are not detected. Things like Weather Radar, cordless phones and such. Thats the deal with WiFi, it can be working great one day and fucked up the next. Thats why Im glad I managed to get the internet line up to my room so I didnt have to deal with it any more.
