So i recently bought a gtx 1050 and it fits in the pci-e slot, basically everything fits fine. But when i connect the HDMI cable with the gtx 1050 and turn on the monitor it says theres no signal, what should i do?

PS. im new to Pc building so this could be a really dumb question ;)

Have you tried a different cable, or tried with another monitor, if no other monitor, you can try it on your tv, if it has hdmi inputs.

If you have already tried the above, then try removing the card and re-seating it, make sure to plug the gpu power in if it requires it and try again.  If that doesn't work, you can try the vid card in another system to make sure it works, otherwise you may have a bad monitor(if it is new and you have not used it before) or a bad video card.

Try DVI, it that doesn't work either, try the video out ports on your motherboard if it has them. With some boards, you need to manually tell it to prioritize the PCI-e graphics card over the onboard.

If that also doesn't work, try booting without the GPU. Because you haven't ruled out the system itself can post.
