Hey guys I'm looking for some advice for hosting a byoc LAN for about 10 people. Do you have any advice? Everyone is gonna need adequate internet connection etc...

Um... just connect an 8-port or 16-port gigabit switch, and ensure that you've got an adequate internet connection for everyone to game online at the same time. Have people download games ahead of time though, otherwise you'll all be fighting for bandwidth downloading games instead of playing them.

Desktop: KiRaShi-Intel-2022 (i5-12600K, 5060 Ti) Mobile: Moto Razr 50 Ultra (Razr+ 2024) | 30GB CAN+US+MEX $30/month
Laptop: Lenovo Yoga 7i (16") 82UF0015US (i7-12700H, 16GB/2TB RAM/SSD, A370M GPU) Tablet: Lenovo Tab Plus (256GB)
Camera: Canon M6 Mark II | Canon Rebel T1i (500D) | Canon SX280 Music: Spotify Premium (CIRCA '08)

I mean if your just doing it through a 10 port switch not too bad, but if its through the same internet connection you may see issues if you use up all the bandwidth, but usually LANs won't have too many issues unless your on a really bad connection.

Thanks

Having hosted many LANs over the years I can provide a few things I've learned along the way.

1. Something always goes wrong. Either it's someone has a busted rig or your network shits the bed, those are the two most common.

2. Make a games list beforehand. And stick to it. Otherwise your LAN will devolve into people fighting over what to play.

3. Take breaks. Seriously. Every few hours take a break and stretch, go for pizza, whatever.

4. Always have extra parts. Patch cables, keyboards, power bars, mouse pads, etc.

The New Machine: Intel 11700K / Strix Z590-A WIFI II / Patriot Viper Steel 4400MHz 2x8GB / Gigabyte RTX 3080 Gaming OC w/ Bykski WB / x4 1TB SSDs (x2 M.2, x2 2.5) / Corsair 5000D Airflow White / EVGA G6 1000W / Custom Loop CPU & GPU

The Rainbow X58: i7 975 Extreme Edition @4.2GHz, Asus Sabertooth X58, 6x2GB Mushkin Redline DDR3-1600 @2000MHz, SP 256GB Gen3 M.2 w/ Sabrent M.2 to PCI-E, Inno3D GTX 580 x2 SLI w/ Heatkiller waterblocks, Custom loop in NZXT Phantom White, Corsair XR7 360 rad hanging off the rear end, 360 slim rad up top. RGB everywhere.

^. The 2) option is most important. Make sure the game is tested, ready, everyone has it, yadda yadda. I mean it's 2018 so I suppose you will play an online game together in a room, but yea. Some  games also refuse to run online on the same LAN (I am not kidding), I remember 2-3 titles like that.

Bonus point: Make sure to have adequate ventilation. This amount of people alone make a lot of heat, and need oxygen. And then you have the computers. Gather the desktop fans, big fans, industrial fans, whatever you can get from relatives, or the participants.
