Android Auto and the One Plus 3t

So I just leased a Nissan Rouge SV, nice car. It has the Google auto and Android auto ability. The issue is I got a One Plus 3t and its USB Type C, I dont get extra cables, so I was first wondering what are some decent quality cables? The car doesnt support dash charging so I see no need to spend the money on a One Plus cable. 

 

Secondly, anything I should know about Android auto? Tips/Tricks? Apps that work well with it? OH any one know any good tech related pod casts? 

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.

Don't try to get too nifty with the apps on Android Auto. Just use Google Maps, Spotify (or whatever other inferior streaming service, joking) but they have spotify support. Decent quality cables? A 3 pack on Amazon for $7.99. Don't get too caught up in those. However I will say, that some of the head units, Kenwood/Pioneer especially, they hate long usb or usb extenders while using Android Auto/Carplay, idk why.
