Built a small table for my lounge room computer.  Added some rgb.

Too much  ???

It's a little too bright. Maybe add lights around the edge of the table, legs and behind the case?

I had it turned up so it was obvious. 

Its more muted for gaming or watching movies.

I would say paint/cover the edge of the table, that's the bit that looks a bit too glaring for me. That way you'll just get the refractions from the logo in the middle, that'd be nice and sublte
