M.2 + HDD with SSD cache

So I'm going to get a m.2 nvme SSD for my boot drive and also getting a 3TB hard drive, the question is if I buy a small SSD and use it as a cache will it make a meaningful difference? Recently in one of the tech tips videos, they used a program to cache and was thinking of going with that?

Depends on the use. I had a setup like this. Helps a bit in games, but not a huge change that I noticed.
 

For caching look into storage spaces. Its built into windows 10 and works well.
