Hi!

I've just bought a GTX 1080 and was wondering if I should change the PSU. Not because of wattage, but quality concerns. For reasons not my fault (computer was once repaired by insurance), I now have a Corsair CX750. It's not the new version, the very old one. I've had this for a few years now. I have a XFX TS650 that's been laying and collection dust for 2 years, and wonder if it would be a worth it (for quality of voltage stabillity and more) to change it out. Would it be worth the time to swap from a CX750 to a TS650?

Thanks in advance.

I would say, unless you have issues with power delivery/overclocking, I would keep what you have. Shouldn't affect the GPU as long as it gets the power it needs. I have been using an old cx500 for about 5 years now and put a 1080 in my pc a year ago. Haven't had any issues with the power or overclocking. If that helps you at all.

The CX750 will probably do fine. The newer designs for it aren't drastically changed. @jonnyGURUcan tell you whether or not he'd recommend it.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

How old is it? 3 years or more and I'd get rid of it, less than that and it should be fine until it's out of warranty, then switch it out.

Just some bapo nerd from 'Straya
