I have an old pc with pentium e2220,2 GB Ram, 500 GB seagate HDD and 300 watt delta psu and integrated intel g31/g33 express chipset graphics. so I thought it use as video watch pc as I upgraded to windows 10 pro 32 bit from windows 7 32 bit ultimate it was not a great experience it lags very much so I downgraded from Windows 10 to windows 7 then I thought to install remix os as dual boot with remix os  I installed 32 bit version of remix os with provided tool in my hard disk partition-'E' then as i rebooted grub was giving an 'error-15' but when installed it on my 'c' partition on which my windows 7 was sitting it booted magically as turned it off for taking a look at my ipv4 setting it won't boot neither in windows nor in remix os. I just installed windows 7 with the help of original dvd so I want to know how to dual boot them properly.

Remix OS is a now-discontinued computer operating system for personal computers

also, its based on the android x86 project, which is already hard enough to get to work on its on, cant imagine dual-booting it is a nice experience...

if its just for video watching, try one of the sleeker linux distro's.

and honestly.. based off how well ubuntu is running on an old box we have at the office (thats not too different from yours, surprisingly) you have a pretty wide choice of linux distros to choose from that wont feel sluggish.

Phoenix OS is an alternative for Remix OS and the project is still alive and maintained.

Phoenix OS usually installs on to the same disk partition as windows so you may have to format and set a partition for it.. this is tricky if you don't understand Linux and Android both. It makes a surprisingly nice little light desktop tho with tons of commercial support and access to most of the Android software library (as it's java based). The one thing Android does a lot better than Linux (It's all Linux.. I mean GNU/Linux, not Android/Linux) is chat and messaging. It can also be used to play Android Games on a Desktop and it's pretty good at HTPC.

Oh one thing to add with that.. It's a Chinese release (so was Remix OS) and it comes (as far as I can tell) in a binary only form.. so it may be difficult to audit for security.. something to keep in mind.
