They would both be 1tb at 7200 RPM. Would it affect the quality of raid if they aren’t the same model of drive.

Capacity matters most in RAID. It's not set in stone that you should use identical drives otherwise, but it's generally done because it's easier to predict failures that way. A certain batch will be expected to fail at a similar time.

PC Specs - AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D MSI B550M Mortar - 32GB Corsair Vengeance RGB DDR4-3600 @ CL16 - ASRock RX7800XT 660p 1TBGB & Crucial P5 1TB Fractal Define Mini C CM V750v2 - Windows 11 Pro

Yes you can pair different drives in RAID.

The controller doesn't care if its not identical.

All it cares is the capacity, you would endup having the lowest capacity of the 2 drive.

So if one drive is 990gb vs 1024gb, it will read as 990gb (raid 1).

But if you wanna go with raid 0 why don't you just buy an SSD, the speed would trump 7200 drive on raid 0.

Ryzen 5700g @ 4.4ghz all cores | Asrock B550M Steel Legend | 3060 | 2x 16gb Micron E 2666 @ 4200mhz cl16 | 500gb WD SN750 | 12 TB HDD | Deepcool Gammax 400 w/ 2 delta 4000rpm push pull | Antec Neo Eco Zen 500w

i have my operating system on a ssd, this is for secondary storage, such as games. i want 2tb storage, and i already have a 1 tb hdd for said storage. i want to add another terabyte and this would provide speed increase for lower price
