I'm looking to upgrade my PSU

Msuni

Currently i have a 400w PSU by Kobink which are obviously not a very well known company and therefore probably not that reliable. I am looking for one which is reliable, from a known brand and which is fairly low cost. My specs are an i7 8700k and s gtx1070. Replies are always appreciated  thanks.

The Corsair CX(2017) series are always a good option or a Pure Power 10 from beQuiet is also a solid pick.

Corsair makes good PSU's. Always get a more powerful PSU than you need because it will deteriorate over time. PCPartPicker can estimate wattage for you. I would go at least 200W over what is required. As far as 80 Plus ratings go, anything over 80 Plus Gold isn't worth it in my opinion. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/80_Plus)

I have a Toughpower grand 750 watt which I really like.  I bought it on sale though so it might not be worth it.

Everything in that statement was completely false... j

Let's break it down:

Corsair makes no PSUs, Corsair designs and rebrands PSUs which are then build by CWT/GW/HEC/Flextronics, they have good models, not so good models and paperweights, no brand is universally good,

Care to prove that, accurately rated PSUs are designed for full power output for the length of the warranty or more.

PCPP overestimates, especially with the motherboard...

Why? So you can enjoy the louder PSU fan? Or maybe so you can pay more on your power bill...

>80+ Gold in general isn't usually worth it from a pure efficiency standpoint, but it may be worth it for those looking for low noise.
