In my new build i am planing on using an old m.2 ssd as my boot drive, but my ssd has the OS from my old laptop and i don't have a dock that i can use to delete it manually. How can i get the new OS onto the ssd while the old OS is still on there?

Can i boot from the CD drive and then wipe the SSD when it is booted up?

yep. or you can use a USB drive. when you get to the windows installer, you can select your SSD and format it, deleting the previous contents. then you can just install windows on it normally. :)

Unplug everything except the drive you want to put windows on.

Use a USB to install windows.

Plug in any old drives, and any data you want to keep you can copy paste to your new OS drive.

Then, using windows disk management, delete the partitions on the other drives to wipe them and make a new simple volume.

Now you have a fresh OS drive and your other drives are completely clean ready to use for data storage.
