I just want your opinion on which gaming pc above is a better, faster pc for the price b/c I’m thinking about buying one. I dont need you to tell me about another build without a GPU. Thanks though.

I wouldn't recommend either because you're getting yourself stuck on 1151 which means more expensive CPU upgrades or with that H310 the VRM is so weak I wouldn't recommend an upgrade on it. With Ryzen/AM4 you can get an 8 core CPU for under $200, or just upgrade options until 2020.

The Ryzen APU will run games fine for the month or whatever it takes to save up the extra $50 for an RX 570/580, or it allows you to save up the $300 for a used 980ti which is pretty close to a 1080 in performance with an overclock. And it gets you a better monitor for the long haul.

Also the headset is taking up far too much of the budget. Thought you said you already had audio hardware?

The monitor is pretty poor most likely, should be IPS at minimum. Or one of the 75Hz TN free-sync displays.

Pretty sure I know what I'm talking about at this point.

Ok ok, so with the rx580 how much will the pc your recommending me cost? My budget is $700 or $750 if it’s worth it. I also need a monitor.

Why are you so opposed to an APU when it gets you a better display which is just as important for gaming as your GPU?

It will be able to run games just fine until you're able to get a GPU or it lets you save up for an even better GPU, which is the main point of the recommendation.

So your saying I can play games fine with integrated graphics? And also the pc part picker you sent me says potential incompatibilities something about the motherboard needing a BIOS update

That's the whole point of the APUs, obviously it won't be as fast as a dedicated GPU, but it will work fine, especially in esports titles or slightly older games.

Actually maybe buy the B450 Pro 4 ATX anyways, it has display port for the APU, which will give it access to the free-sync on your monitor.

The B350 boards advertise "Ryzen APU/2000 ready" on newegg, are probably updated by this point.

Then you have a better 144hz display whenever you throw in a GPU, be it an RX 570/580 at $200 ish, or a used 980ti around $300

Can I just get a 100hz monitor instead of 144hz so I’ll have enough to get a rx580 right now? Remind me what free sync is again

Double check reviews for the gigabyte one then, cooler might be sub par.

ASUS model has been fine for me.

Free-sync is just a "free" bonus on a lot of monitors now, but it only works with Radeon GPUs because nvidia hates freedom.

Eliminates screen tearing, which isn't as important at 144hz, but since it's free you might as well get it.

Don't need the ATX B450 board, MicroATX B450 one is fine then. Or get the MSI Tomahawk for around $100 if your budget is actually close to $800

I’m pretty sure I don’t need a 144hz monitor is there anything less expensive so I’ll gave enough for a gpu because I’m still a little sceptical about APU gaming

The two builds in the OP are simply not comparable. One includes a monitor and headphones, the other doesn't.

H310 motherboards are not really appropriate for anything other than the lowest of low end builds.

Z370 motherboards are not appropriate for locked cpu.

B360 or H370 motherboards are optimal for locked Intel cpu.

GTX 1060 6GB is slightly better than RX 580 in many titles.

Dual channel memory kits are slightly better than single memory modules.

Don't buy into the argument that AM4 is more upgradeable.

The i3-8100 and Ryzen 3 2200G have roughly the same performance in gaming using the same gpu.

It's like unquestionably more upgradable in terms or performance per dollar, and likely longevity.

The RX 580 and 1060 go back and forth for the most part, free-sync pushes it over the edge as a nice bonus depending on the display.

and I don't think that case has airflow, should go for a Focus G if you wanted a $50 case in there

Is the OP considering freesync?

https://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Phanteks/Eclipse_P300/6.html

$200 R7 1700s are very hard to beat

free-sync is just a nice bonus, not needed anymore for now though, always a nice option to have in the future though.

Case has no front mesh for airflow

It has no front mesh, therefore airflow is going to be more restricted in general compared to something like the Focus G.

This one's pretty close in design, hottest case on the bench, because no real intake/exhaust for airflow.

The more important questions is what games do you play? Can you name current as well future games that play or want to play?

If just esports titles, you could potentially go with a cheaper processor that you can later upgrade.

Also since you preferred Intel, are you open to getting a used 6th or 7th generation i5 or i7 CPU? It could be cheaper that going all brand new.

CPU: Sempron 2500+ / P4 2.8E / P4 2.6C / A64 x2 4000+ / E6420 / E8500 / i5-3470 / i7-3770
GPU: TNT2 M64 / Radeon 9000 / MX 440-SE / 7300GT / Radeon 4670 / GTS 250 / Radeon 7950 / 660 Ti

I play fortnite and I’m thinking about playing over watch. And yes, if they are good, I’m fine with an older generation cpu. My budget is $750 and I don’t have a monitor as I’m currently on a laptop so I need one too.

No because "better" is a value judgement. Just what makes a better system in your mind?

Besides, both options in the OP have issues.

In my mind, the better pc is the one that has more power for gaming. Like more FPS on games like fortnite and over watch. And if those aren’t good options, can you give me a pc part locker link to a good pc for gaming in the price range of about $700 - $800

An Intel and an AMD system have been suggested. Pick one (they have similar gaming performance), adjust it to your preferences and post the permalink, (or click [bb] above the list and paste result). If there are any issues, I'm sure someone will comment.
