Not sure if I have to the provided template but here we go. Just ordered the parts for a new rig. I paid about $900 ($940 with shipping). From what I know, it's a pretty well rounded build. Since the Ryzen 5 3600 is becoming harder to get right now, I went for a i5 10400F paired with a from what I know to be a decent B460 board. I added 1TB of NVME storage because I already have an HDD from my old rig and want plenty of SSD storage for all of my games. I think the 5600 XT is also a good steal for $300. Although I already ordered the parts, if anyone has any somewhat substantial cha

Windows installation failed terribly

Starting the system without the usb shows the reason I knew to try to reinstall windows in the first place. It says there is no bootable device -
Windows installation failed terribly
Owen the Trusty man replied to Owen the Trusty man's topic in Troubleshooting
I’ve been trying to. I plug the usb into the laptop and change the boot drive to it and it just gets stuck in a infinite boot loop. Not sure why it wouldn’t just go back to the windows installer. I need to figure out a way to wipe the drive so I can basically start over. -
Windows installation failed terribly

I guess I forgot to mention that in the thread. When I charged the laptop back up and plugged back in the usb that’s what happened. It gets stuck on the boot screen. I think I screwed it up because the laptop died like halfway through installing windows -
I got an old laptop and I’ve been trying to fix it. Since it wouldn’t boot into windows when I turned it on, I decided to reinstall windows onto it with a usb drive. The problem is that after plugging in the usb and going through the process of installing windows, the laptop ran out of battery during the installation. Ever since that has happened and I charged the laptop, it is stuck on the manufacturers boot screen infinitely loading. I’ve tried to open startup repair but I’ve had no luck. Bios works fine though.

About mixing ram modules
Owen the Trusty man replied to Owen the Trusty man's topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
Thanks for the answers guys! Btw this was just something I was curious about and I don't actually have a pc with 1 8gb stick. -
Just a quick question I have. Say I have a pc with one 8gb stick of 2400mhz C16 ram. If I want to add another 8gbs onto the pc, but cant get the same model of ram I already have, is mixing ram fine? Like if I get another ram stick off of amazon with the exact same speed and latency, will there be any problems? Is there any other spec I should be matching as well? (Voltage?) Obviously they are both gonna have to be ddr4.

My computer blue screened out of the blue this morning. (I believe the stop code was MEMORY_MANAGEMENT) and even though it was supposed to restart like blue screens usually do, my computer stayed on with no output from my monitors nor keyboard and mouse. I’ve tried everything including reseating the ram, reseating the graphics card, and taking out the CMOS battery. No matter what, my computer when turned on, will seem like it works perfectly fine, but actually give no signal to my monitor and no power to my peripherals. If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated. (Keep in mind my monit

My friends budget is around $1200 so I made him this parts list. Decided only to go with a R5 3600 instead of a R7 3700x to have extra money for the 2070 super. Also yes I know the h510 is a generic and overused case but I still went for it since it will be my friends first build and I don’t want the case to be too confusing or overwhelming. Edit: also decided to keep him with the stock cooler since he won’t be overclocking and it saves around $40 PCPartPicker Part List Type Item Price CPU

I setup a build for $1000. Is it good or are there things that I should change? The custom CPU I added is the Ryzen 5 1600 AF since it goes for $85 on amazon and has 16c/12t. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/K4QLHB

I'm not too experienced in overclocking so I need to watch videos to explain how to do it. In the videos, the core and memory clock values are labeled as +0 and you can just increment them by any number. In my afterburner, the values on the core and memory clocks just show their normal clocks and when you try to add on to them by typing in numbers like in the videos they just drop down to the lowest clock. I don't know if there is a setting or something but I can't really overclock if my afterburner isn't working the same as in the videos explaining to me how to do it. Thanks in advance!

I’ve alreayd tried that also. I took out the gpu and I would get signal but it would bring me to that troubleshoot screen -
No input coming to monitor
Owen the Trusty man replied to Owen the Trusty man's topic in Troubleshooting
The thing is I am! I have a Ryzen 3 2200g! -
I recently shut down my computer and when I tried to turn it back on, the monitor said no input. The hdmi cable isn’t the problem because I tried a different one. The graphics card isn’t the problem because I plugged it into the hdmi port on my motherboard also. I don’t know what the problem is. Also sometimes I can get it on but it will bring to that troubleshoot page where you can do stuff reset your pc and do safe mode etc. Please send help. Thanks.
