I currently have a FX-8350 (4.5GHz) 16gb ddr3 and a GTX1060 6gb. I am looking to upgrade my cpu and mobo b4 fallout 76 beta comes out. I have about $600 to spend on upgrading my cpu, mobo and ram. What would be the best combo for that price? I am looking at a Ryzen 2700x, 16gb ddr4 and an Asus ROG strix. Any suggestions? I want to get the best performance possible for that price. Thx.

cool thx. I just wanted to get other suggestions before i go buying shit. NO INTEL.

the 2700x is an amazing deal (i'm an intel user), but if not for the slight lead in gaming there's actually no reason to get intel right now lol.

If you got 600$ to spend on a purely gaming PC upgrade over a FX 8350, then if you want the best performance then the 8700K would be the way to go

however if you NEED to stick to AMD, then just go for a 2600x, But i do not know your use case.

A pc can that only play games, thats what intel now sounds to me.

makes no diff for GTX1060 for gaming at any modern cpu

You can see the i5 8400 at times pulls out leads of 5-10 Fps and about 15-20 FPS in GTA 5, and an 8400 is a fairly middle end gaming chip, so something like a Z370 and an 8600K should pull out a larger lead, also would be fruitier for future upgrades ala a GTX 2080 or beyond
