I'm doing my first gaming build and a lot of the terminology and specs and stuff go over my head, so I was using recommended parts for the build. This https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01F5LX55K/?coliid=IBQ03DOQU5RSN&colid=10KTYFXX83ZW4&psc=0&ref_=lv_ov_lig_pr_rc was the power supply they used, but its been out of stock for a while. I have every other part I need, so I don't want to wait for this to come back into stock, if they're even going to stock it again.

I was wondering if there's a proper alternative I could get for under $100?

The other parts of the build are:
Nvidia Geforce GTX 1060 3GB
ASUS Prime B350M-A/CSM AM4 Motherboard

AMD Ryzen 5 1500X Processor
Ballistix Sport 8GB DDR4 RAM

WD Blue 1TB Hard Drive

Thank you for any help!

That's an overpriced ancient piece of crap. Please don't recommend it.

Ask on this forum instead, on the new builds and planning section. Read the pinned post.

Based on the parts selection, it seems the guys you used to make your list have absolutely no clue about PCs and should not be trusted.

The cheaper EVGA power supplies such as the B series are actually pretty poor quality. I would recommend a Corsair CX550 (2017) or a Corsair CX550M (2015). The 550w will allow room for future upgrades and they are much better quality units.

Alternatively, you could refer to the PSU Tier List and pick anything tier 3 or higher.

EDIT: Also, your build itself could potentially be improved. I would suggest making a post in the "New Builds and Planning" section to get some feedback and suggestions for improvements.

Just because a PSU doesn't immediately kill the PC and burst into flames, doesn't make it any good. It's crap, as you can see in any review.

$20 is about $20 more than it's worth. The grey CX/M is often available at that price.

In the last month, 500B1 has been $20-25 and dipped to $15 once. https://pcpartpicker.com/product/zNK7YJ/evga-power-supply-100b10500kr?history_days=730

In the last 3 months, CX550 has been $30-40. Lowest it's been is $25 which was last year.

CX450 has been $25-45 and dipped to $20 once. https://pcpartpicker.com/product/Q7L7YJ/corsair-cx-2017-450w-80-bronze-certified-atx-power-supply-cp-9020120-na?history_days=730

CX450M has been $25-50: https://pcpartpicker.com/product/3hkwrH/corsair-power-supply-cp9020102na?history_days=730

I originally bought a lot of B-stock 500B1's back in 2014 for $20-25 each and I thought that was a pretty good deal. In retrospect, it was still a decent deal. There are better options now but I wouldn't call it crap. It's reliable as long as you have realistic expectations with what you want to power with it like a 1060. A 1050 Ti is no sweat.

A 500B is an outdated group-regulated unit that is definitely a great deal for 15 bucks, but not so much within 20 dollars of the Corsair CX.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

Within $5, then. That's absolutely worth the extra. DC-DC and a rifle bearing fan for $5 more. (That's for the CX450)

In 2014, the grey CX/M, Vengeance and Pure Power 10 weren't available, so yeah, it would be a good deal back then. But the same price 4 years later? And it seems like OP wants to power a 1060 with it.

The CX450 is better but the 500B1 would still be fine for a 1060.
