I want to buy a laptop for my sister and I find much better deals on Ebay that come from the us. I live in Europe and I'm worried about the voltage, since we use 220v while the us has 110, if I remeber corectly. Are laptops able to identify the voltage and adapt like some psus? Also, recommend me a good school laptop, if you have something in mind. I'm thinking something like an older used thinkpad, 150 euros max shipping included.

Most laptop adapters and laptops in general are meant to switch between voltages and cycle rates.

Just make sure the laptop and the power adapter can do various voltage and cycle rates, but otherwise she should be fine.

Almost all chargers work from 100-240v so they just need a plug adapter to be used anywhere you want.
