I downloaded a program that checks ur drivers if they're up to date , the program downloaded an update for the internet driver but it fails to install and now im without internet on my desktop pc... how can i download the drivers again ?

Do i need specific ones?

The program is trying to install ''Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless-AC 8265'' (But is stuck to 99% and then says it failed)

What do i do ?

So to start of I wouldn't recommend using such programs most of them are just adware that do unwanted things.

The easiest way you could try is:

  • Right Click on your start button
  • Click Device Manager
  • Open up the Network Adapter Section
  • Right click on your Adapter ''Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless-AC 8265''
  • Select Update Driver
  • Click Search automatically for updated driver software.

Windows should find and install the appropiate driver. Especially in regards to network driver you don't need such programs. They aren't helping as windows usually installs the best driver for network interfaces.

So

''Windows encountered a problem installing the drivers for your device.

Windows found drivers for your device but encountered an error while attempting to install them.

(Intel (R) Dual Band Wireless-AC 8265)

This operaton returned because the timeout period expired.

If you know the manufacturer of your device , you can visit their website and check the support section for drivers.''

this is the message i got while doing so , should i follow their instructions and download the drivers of my manufacturer from a laptop through a usb?

My mobo is Asrock X370 Killer SLI and my wifi adapter is this :

I'd get the drivers direct from Intel personally, they are usually more up to date than Windows Update.

Router:  Intel N100 (pfSense) WiFi6: Zyxel NWA210AX (1.7Gbit peak at 160Mhz)
WiFi5: Ubiquiti NanoHD OpenWRT (~500Mbit at 80Mhz) Switches: Netgear MS510TXUP, MS510TXPP, GS110EMX
ISPs: Zen Full Fibre 900 (~930Mbit down, 115Mbit up) + Three 5G (~800Mbit down, 115Mbit up)
Upgrading Laptop/Desktop CNVIo WiFi 5 cards to PCIe WiFi6e/7

If Windows fails to install the driver you can give this a try to download it directly from Gigabyte.

Just make sure you select the right Windows version.

If this doesn't work you might have to deinstall the drivers first. But I can give you instructions to do so if this should be the case.

Well the attached picture indicates that he is using a Gigabyte WLAN card, so he should get the drivers from them. The intel drivers might be the issue here...

If it was showing up as a Gigabyte WiFi adapter then sure, but these type of adapter are merely PCIe to mini PCIe with a standard Intel mini PCIe card.  So the stock Intel drivers will almost certainly be identical but likely newer.

Yes the first one looks fine. Give it a go. You can just place it anywhere on your ssd and  execute it.

Yea it looks like a zip so most likely there is a *.exe file in the extracted folder. You should run that exe file to start the installation process.

Ok then you might try uninstalling the old driver completly:

  • Right Click on Start and open up the Device Manager
  • Go to Network adapters and right click on your adapter
  • Click uninstall device
  • Confirm with Uninstall
  • Click on Action and Scan for Hardware changes
  • Give it a couple of Minutes and windows should install the driver anew

2) intel 1211 gigabit network connection , i uninstalled the 1) and did the scan thing but nothing happened
