Yes, you can do it. But it's the safest to SLI the exact same designs. Most the time two different cards should work though as long as they carry the same GPU. You might need to use ribbon cables if they have different heights, for example, but yeah... I think you mean 950W PSU. 950W is more than suffice for those cards, but what model is it? Also, I'm personally not a big fan of SLI. If you play, a lot of PUBG for example, it won't work there. IMO it'd be better to just buy a 2070 or 1070.

Yes you can use two cards of different brands, as long as they are the same cards, such as your GTX970s, and for the second one that depends on your system.

You sure you want to do that?

SLI sucks pretty bad.

Have you considered selling the 970 and buying a single better GPU?

Is there a decent setting now? I know on default I use 25% of my second card, helps quite a bit but I would like more.

Upon changing the following settings you should see both of your cards being utilised mate:

SLI Compatibility Bits (DX10 + DX11):

0x080000F1 (For Honor, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, Hitman)

NVIDIA predefined number of GPUs to use on SLI rendering mode on DX10:

0x00000002 SLI_PREDEFINED_GPU_COUNT_DX10_TWO

NVIDIA predefined SLI mode on DirectX 10:

0x00000002 SLI_PREDEFINED_MODE_DX10_FORCE_AFR

I very much appreciate the fact that taking ten seconds to change three settings in "some shitty 3rd party program" improves my performance in game.....

I use it on my other rig to allows the cards to down clock while running surround. Havent used in on my other rig, haven't looked into much aside from that.

Yes, I have in past. The interface looked like shit so I uninstalled it after that 10 seconds.

Point of matter is a suggestion of a single, more capable card to the OP. 1070, for example, can do Fast Sync, consumes much less power in Blu-Ray etc etc. It's simply the superior option.
