Can I download Spotify songs to the new Samsung Watch to listen while offline?

I've watched dozens of videos, went through every review possible and couldnt find the answer to this.

I want to buy the new Samsung Watch to listen to my Spotify playlists while working out so I dont have to carry my phone with me, but my SIM card is on my phone so I wont have internet connection on my watch when I'm out.

Can I download the Spotify songs (assuming I have the storage for it of course) and save them on the watch to listen to them in offline mode? Or is the watch version of Spotify just a few media keys that tells my phone what to do?

As long as you have the storage space and Spotify Premium, that should work.

Fair warning, Samsung uses Tizen for their smartwatches, not Wear OS (previously Android Wear). Last time I used my Gear S3 Frontier, the app support was terrible.
