I am going to upgrade my CPU by mid September. Currently, I am thinking of getting a I7 7700K. Can anyone recommend the 7700K or should I get something else?

Specs:

Intel - Core i5-6500 3.2GHz Quad-Core Processor

Zotac - GeForce GTX 1070 8GB AMP! Extreme Video Card

Note: My budget is around 200-350GBP

7700K seems to be your best option seeing you don't want to completely change your system. I believe they work fine on Z170...

I'd honestly try to find a used one. Save a bit of $ and it likely wont perform any differently...

Yeah there's not a whole lot of difference between the 6700K and the 7700K but looking at your motherboard, I'd say go for the non K variants since you can't overclock anyway. Looking at gaming benchmarks seems to point to an FPS gap of at most 5 FPS and I'd personally save the £20 and put it towards something else for my build

I'm thinking of going for the K variant since im both open to changing my motherboard in the future and i can currently get the K version for the same as the non K

That's OK, but you can get an EXTRA THICC, really good Masterliquid 240 Lite that can cool probably twice as much and is much more efficient for $5 more.

Its in the build now lol. I suppose itll come in handy when i switch my mobo at christmas.
