Green screen of death?

Ill like to ask to know what would cause this problem.

Motherboard, GPU or windows 10?

Heres the issue. My PC just suddenly went into green screen and everything froze while i was watching youtube the sound from the youtube was like repeating and then stopped when the green screen showed up. Following image is how it looks like for the green screen and when i force shutdown waiting awhile before booting i got this weird looking distorted display also attached.

I removed my GPU from my PC and used the onboard dvi and hdmi however i think that my hdmi has issues so i only used my dvi port and it looks fine. Reason for thinking my hdmi port has issues is that it keeps connecting and disconnecting and when connected the color of the screen is not right. There was one instance where the screen looks similar to the image i attached with the wallpaper therefore i have no idea whether it is my gpu or motherboard that is causing the problems.

Do advice me on troubleshooting or if this is a known issue for hardware or software

Thanks!

To attach an image it's not enough to upload it, you also need to click the "+" button that appears on it after uploading.

Usually this sort of issue is caused by the graphics card. If with it you get video distortion and without it you don't, it's almost certainly the culprit. To be absolutely sure you could try using a different graphics card in the same pcie slot to see if that also has a problem.

There isn't much you can do if your graphics card fails, the only solution is to buy a new one unless you can repair the IC - and even then if the gpu itself is broken there's no guarantee it will be fixed.

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

sudo chmod -R 000 /*

Looks like your GPU is dying. It's time for a replacement.

Yeah, that's clearly a broken card.
