was ther eosme type of glue or adhesive applied? If not, then it should be easy as Pie to pull a fan header off a board...

You're not grabbing it front back are you? ie where that retaining tag is. Are you angling it towards the retaining tag?

If you're interested in a product please download and read the manual first.

Just take and pull on the cable. Dont touch the connector part of it... would guess that you are grabbing the guide tab with it as you try to remove it as suggested by @keskparane

Grab it by the sides and wiggle, not front and back.

At this point if you cant get it with normal methods, get some needle nosed pliers for additional leverage and pray to god you dont break anything.

Dont know what to tell you then but to keep trying various methods of pulling and prying and hoping.

If you can get a small screwdriver blade in there are lift up while wiggling the connector. One of the pins is probably bent slightly or you have a really tight fit. Wiggling should eventually yield the right angle or free up the binding pin and the force will either break a tight connection or pop it out when the angle is right. Pulling straight has never really helped me. Wouldn`t advise solely pulling the wire as tempting as it is for obvious reasons.

Hopefully there is a tiny gap between the plastic base where the metal pins stick out of the motherboard and the actual plug with the wires attached.
