Case fans aren't following the fan curve

Fans: Be Quiet! Pure Wings 2 140mm PWM (4-pin)

Motherboard: https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/GA-Z170-Gaming-K3-rev-10

Why aren't my case fans following the curve I set up in gigabyte's smart fan 5? It is also showing wrong temperature of cpu.

Pic1: CPU fan showing 40c and following the curve normally as I apply load.

Pic2: Case fan showing different temperature than CPU and not following the curve as I apply load.

Pic3: Why does it show that my case fan max rpm is 879 even though it's rated for 1000rpm? Also why controllable range of 70-100% ?

Try to set the fans to full speed, and then click the calibrate button. That should fix the issue number 2.

Also try clicking the big question mark on the left, and then setting the temp input to cpu.

I only see your reply if you @ me.

When I click on the question mark it only lets me locate the fan.

Try first choosing the location of the fan, and then clicking on it or something.

Because when i click on the image on the left it opens a kind of motherboard view, where i can choose the temp sensor.

Maybe click the little triangle on the bottom left or something, or the radar icon.

Clicking on it again just brings this dialog again, I clicked everywhere, can't find the motherboard thing you described anywhere.

Are you using SIV inside of an app center like this? Looks like we have different SIV apps, I'm on the latest version though. I'm not sure why your app looks different than mine.

Did you download the app center and the SIV from your motherboard's download page?

That is an old setup, maybe gigabyte doesnt like giving old motherboard new features?

That would be my guess for the missing features.

That might be it, I'm writing this problem in gigabyte's forums, see what they have to say.

I viewed the info about your mobo, and it seems that it is lacking the temp sensors, as i dont see them advertised anywhere on the site, meaning that you are probably lacking that feature, but of course contact them, maybe they can still help you.

But the fans are still linked to something because it shows the temperature, I just can't change it to cpu.

Another interesting thing, I installed SpeedFan, but it doesn't show any of my fans.

Can you change the temp target to cpu in bios?

I don't think I can, I don't see the setting to do so. The motherboard manual says the fans adjust the speed based on system temps. What are those "system" temps I don't know.
