I was wondering if a 600W power supply from EVGA could run this system. Would I need to upgrade to maybe a 700W or would this be fine?

This power supply is a complete unknown - it launched about a month ago and wasn't reviewed or tested by anyone, so it's impossible to tell if it's a bomb or a good unit.

Swap it for Corsair CX450 (one PCIe cable), CX450M, BitFenix Formula Bronze 450W, BitFenix Formula Gold 450W, or Corsair TX550M.

No, absolutely NOT! Especially since you're talking about the 80plus Bronze or White Shit for 40€ or less.

Get a good PSU, you're fine with 400 and 450W but get a good one like be quiet Pure Power 10, 400W or Straight Power 11, 450W.

Alternative: Bitfenix Formula or Whisper M, both 450W.

You don't need no 600W for that Mid Range system, its more in the 200-300W Range under normal gaming conditions.

Get a good quality one, not a High Watt one!

I've never known an EVGA to be unreliable but it definitely is worth looking into another if there aren't any reliable reviews around yet.

Brands are irrelevant, models count and what they do with it.

Some EVGA have exploded in tests, others are just the usual shit. Especially in the lower price range, EVGA doesn't seem to be a good deal at all.

So pls stop going for Manufacturers/Labels and start thinking about the model in front of you because (almost) every manufacturer/Label has better stufe that is OK and recommendable or the System Integrator Garbage.

Though there are some labesl that only do garbage, others do OKish stuff, and others don't do garbage and have other labels for that.

I was going through power supplies and it was a decent price and modular.

And it's also a loud fire hazard. I've told you the cheapest PSUs that aren't crap. The CX450M and Masterwatt 450W (not MWE) are semi modular.

:)

Go for the CX450 if you want a decent PSU

Did you know that "modular" PSUs are literally the same "non-modular" PSUs inside right? It means the CX450 and the CX450M are the same unit but that little M in the name will cost you around $20 more which is kind of stupid.

I have a modular PSU and even being a G2 (That's a Tier 2 unit?) it was a headache from the very first day I had it, the included cables are bad, and I mean really bad, one of the SATA connectors broke and ended up with exposed wires because some designer decided it was a nice idea to daisy chain 4 connectors using really thin wires, it only came with ONE set of molex connectors and it's short af, it's supposed to be longer, you know so you can actually use it to plug your ODDs.

Not to mention the PSU is a mess, in classic units we had only one hole with all of the cables but with modular things there are cables going through the whole case, the unit is great overall but the cables are horrible, 5/10

ASUS X470-PRO • R7 1700 4GHz • Corsair H110i GT P/P • 2x MSI RX 480 8G • Corsair DP 2x8 @3466 • EVGA 750 G2 • Corsair 730T • Crucial MX500 250GB • WD 4TB

That's literally not true. The current CX series is one of the exceptions. CX450-CX650 are completely different internally than CX450M-650M. The nonmodular versions use considerably more advanced technology than the semi modular units.

That system will only use about 200W under load. A Corsair CX450/CX450M would be a great pairing and not that EVGA.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.
