so your budget is 250 for all parts? Are you looking for a motherboard replacement as well? I am assuming you are because you aren't gonna spend 250 on sandy bridge

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

you couldn't spend more than about 150 on a 3770k which is the very best CPU available for that socket. You have the budget to upgrade to a modern i5 instead, with ddr4, faster clocks, and better IO. You should consider selling the old parts to bump up the budget if you don't want to stay on ivy bridge

but what about ryzen dont they have anything better i herd they have good budget cpu`s

you heard right, but ryzen does not work on the same motherboard that the i5 does. Don't forget, the current generation of intel CPUs is the 8th generation, and there are new sockets every 2 generations. Ryzen is also intel's competitor, so the CPUs are not cross compatible.

yeah, or anything newer whatsoever. The ivy bridge motherboard you have means only Ivy bridge CPUs. specifically, LGA 1155 chips, as that's the motherboard socket.

I hope the link I posted helps.

before you pull the trigger, what do you use your computer for? What is the aim for this upgrade?

If it is for gaming, 3570 is not too bad. You might just want to upgrade the GPU. Get a 1060 6gb if possible.

If you need it for more graphic intensive work, then a CPU upgrade is indeed in order.

Since u are on a super tight buget~

u should get a 3770k and get a cpu cooler. Oc the cpu to 4.3 and u should be fine

Cpu/mobo used~130usd 3770k/z77

Cpu cooler used ~50

Sell ur old parts and buy 16gb rams

Preferably overclockable to 2666

and yes im aware that my whole system is bottlenecking the gpu

The ivy bridge i7s don't necessarily bottleneck modern graphics cards. You should be sitting pretty with a 3770k, even at stock. It's still a very popular CPU generation, used with many modern builds, and also it was the direct competitor to the FX series from AMD, which is also still mildly popular these days.

3770 if u can't oc, 3770k if u can, just make sure it has hyperthreading, you won't see too much improvement in gaming jumping to a 1600.

If you decide to break the bank, u should be looking a 2600/x with the expectation of ocing to 4ghz.

For a budget build that's not unreasonable. Gives the chance to throw a single dimm in later too

this looks like quite a good decision. just know the a-series boards are the only kind that won't allow overclocking.

Your Turbo frequencies will be fine tho
