Hello,

I'm recently deciding whether to upgrade from my iPhone 6 due to the slow performance and battery life.

I am currently looking into the iPhone 7 plus ($999 on the website) and the iPhone 8 ($1029 on the website)

Which is better value? Are the battery lives of both phones similar? or is one significantly better?

Would there be any point from going from a 6 to a 7? Won't it be outdated again in a few years?

If anyone could give me some advice for this possible purchase it would be greatly appreciated :)

iPhone 9 is rumoured to be releasing within a month, so both an iPhone 7 and iPhone 8 are pretty much already outdated.

Did you considered about checking the prices on other sites?

I actually never got an iPhone before and after my girlfriend forced me to get one, I found a brand new iPhone 8 Plus for 979,99$. There was some sale going on or something.

Anyway, I would recommend you to get the iPhone 8 because I heard that the iPhone 7 (Plus) has some issues which are still not fixed.

But the price would be definitely way over 1029$

I probably should've said it before, I live in Australia.

iPhone 8 is basically the same age as the 10 though.

Then this will be difficult but if you want some pre-owned or just check the prices, then take a look on this site https://www.shopbot.com.au

I used their french version of this site and I actually found there a lot of interesting stuff way cheaper than at my local stores

Judging by those prices, they're the base models. The iPhone 7 Plus comes with 32GB storage for the base model (extra ~$150 for the 128GB model). The iPhone 8 base model comes with 64GB storage (extra ~$250 for 256GB model). So if you're someone who likes to store music, movies, or photos on your device, then the iPhone 8 would be a better bet as you get double the storage for only $30 extra. For only $30 difference between the two, I'd go with the iPhone 8.

They're updating the iPhone X with the iPhone X Plus.

True, but there may also be discounts on the iPhone 8 once the iPhone 9 is released.

You can try also IPhone X.

The base model iPhone X is AUD $1579. That's $550, or more than 50%, more expensive than the phones OP is deciding between.
