Barcode

Hi Guys

 

I have being tasked at work trying to find a software that we can use to read and manage barcodes.

We are wanting to put a barcode on all our gear at work to keep track of it better and know when its being used or not.

Does anyone have a good stable program that we can use for this need.

Needs to be mac compatible.

With smartphone it's easy.. In google apps look for barcode reader/generator.. And thats it..  I have used universal barcode reader/generator. So all type ones could read with my phone..  For making them,, well. With app generate it.. And then export image to pc. From there manage them or print.  
As for PC software to make barcodes.  could try https://www.barcoderesource.com. But I prefer smartphones.

The actual readers work with anything. When they read barcode, you get the code in notepad, Excel etc. directly. You have much tougher luck finding software which would utilize webcam as QR/barcode reader. I've tried several and nothing works yet. I've read that some inventory management softwares have this as feature, but as those are always paid features, I haven't tested them.

i dont think we will end up going with barcodes on our stuff my boss asked me to find a solution and iv spent time looking but i think its to complicated and just way to much extra work for us to do.

he gets ideas in his head n just wants me to do it but when i report back most the time hes like oh na dont worry about it.
